JamF Parent

Jamf Parent is an application that allows you to manage functionality and restrict access to apps on your child's College Managed Device (CMD).

Follow the instructions or video tutorial below to setup Jamf Parent.

📱 What You’ll Need

  1. The CMD

  2. Your personal iOS or Android device

  3. The Jamf Parent app (download from the App Store or Google Play in the following instructions)

🛠️ Setup Instructions

  1. Download Jamf Parent

    • On your personal device, open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

    • Search for Jamf Parent and install the app.

  2. Generate the QR Code on the CMD

    • On the CMD, open the Self Service app.

    • Tap the Jamf Parent icon (usually in the top-right corner).

    • A screen will appear displaying a QR code.

  3. Link the Devices

    • Open the Jamf Parent app on your personal device.

    • Tap Get Started, then tap Scan QR Code.

    • Allow camera access if prompted.

    • Scan the QR code displayed on the CMD.

    • Tap Confirm when prompted.

  4. The CMD will appear in the Jamf Parent app. You can now:

    • Restrict or allow apps

    • Set app usage schedules

    • Enable App Lock to limit access to specific apps during certain times

  5. Adding More Children (Optional)

    • Tap Add Child in the Jamf Parent app.

    • Repeat the QR code scanning process for each additional child’s device.

🔒 Important Notes

  1. Restrictions set in Jamf Parent are not active during school hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.).

  2. If multiple parents wish to manage the same device, each must scan the QR code separately.
